French "Interex" arrives in Belgrade

Market chain "Interex" is arriving in Belgrade. At the corner of Vojislava Ilića Street and Ustanička Street, French company "Intermarche" will open its hypermarket on 2,200 square meters of retail space at the end of May 2007.

Hypermarket in Belgrade is the sixth facility of "Interex" in our country. Unlike other market chains, which opened their first megamarkets in the capital, French company decided to test the market in the provinces of Serbia first.

- The shelves will be filled with about 20,000 articles of domestic and foreign manufacturers - says Dejan Radulović, the sales and marketing manager, and adds that 90% of articles are produced in Serbian factories, whereas only 10% are imported.

So far, "Intermarche" has invested 15m EUR in its markets in Serbia, it employed about 350 people and it cooperates with more than 300 domestic suppliers. According to their plans, the facilities in Belgrade and Užice will be opened prior to the end of 2007 and the estimated investments amount to 44m EUR.
