Tender for sale of building of former Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in center of Belgrade cancelled for second time

The building of Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in 90-92 Kneza Miloša Street was not sold in the second attempt.

The tender for sale of this building, destroyed in the NATO bombing, was cancelled yesterday (January 15, 2007), because the National Bank of Serbia finally decided that the asked banking guarantee "AA" was not the same thing as "2A", which had been delivered by bidder "Soravia invest" .

– Therefore, we came to the conclusion that the conditions were not met, so that we are going to announce new tender. This time, it will stated precisely that the participant mush have the guarantee from the first-class bank in its offer, but without marks – said Goran Mandić, the spokesperson of the Republic Directorate for Property.

The next, the third in a row, ad could be repeated by the end of the week. The next opening of the bids will take place in 15 days, whereas the final decision about the winner will be announced 8 days later.

The Directorate, however, points out that it is currently uncertain whether the same bidders will apply on the tender, as well as which price could be offered concerning the fact that two bidders already came out with the statement about the amount of money they would give for the ownership over this building on the prestigious location.
