Construction of 965 social housing units commenced in Ovca
First buildings within the social housing complex in Ovca will be finished in 2015 thanks to a EUR 5 million donation from the Commissariat for Refugees, Goran Vesic, the secretary of the provisional government of Belgrade, said at the building site in this neighborhood.
Vesic noted that 965 apartments would be built in Ovca during four phases of works, 230 of which would be intended for refugees, 180 for the Emergency Fund, and the rest would be social, non-profitable housing units.
- The Commissariat for Refugees has provided a donation of EUR 5 million through EU funds, which will be used to finish the work on the first building in this complex - said Vesic.
This new complex in Ovca will also comprise a kindergarten and a school.
He added that the residential complex in Ovca would be using geothermal water, which should ensure significant power savings.
Plans for this complex were drawn by CIP Institute of Transportation, and the plan is to finish all the works in 2016.
