The Trump Organisation is offered three sites in Kneza Miloša – Buildings of the Ministry of the Interior and US Embassy mooted for construction of a luxury hotel
Representatives of the American Trump Organisation yesterday visited potential sites for a five-star hotel in Belgrade. According to Novosti, the list of sites covers the Army General Staff building and Ministry of the Interior building in Kneza Miloša, but also Rajićeva street, the old “Beobanka” building in Zeleni Venac, the "Depo" in Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra and several locations in New Belgrade. According to unofficial accounts, there is also another site in play which they would buy from their own country, the former US Embassy building in Kneza Miloša.
The American investor will analyse the sites in the coming period and choose the most suitable one. For the moment it looks as if the Army General Staff building is the favourite. In any case, if they select a location owned by Serbia negotiations will be conducted with our state leadership.
Rotem Rosen, chief executive of the partner Sapir Organisation and member of the Trump delegation, told Tanjug on Tuesday that the idea was to create a successful business, but on the other hand for it to be something for the people of Serbia. He said their aim was to show people in Serbia that these organisations not only “create and build, but also rebuild”.
Upon their return to USA, Rotem said, the delegation will talk about the investment with the American businessman Donald Trump, owner of The Trump Organisation, and with other decision makers. Rotem pointed out that members of the delegation were very pleased with what they had seen in Serbia, and especially emphasised two strong natural resources: “human resources, because people are very smart and friendly, and Serbia's central and strategic position in Europe”.
