Construction of Jagodina's "Aqua park" commenced, 2m RSD set aside for first phase of works

The Mayor of the Municipality of Jagodina, Dragan Marković, symbolically marked the commencement of the construction of "Aqua Park" with an Olympic swimming pool. It will be the first aqua park in Serbia and it will take up a surface of 4 ha.

- "Aqua Park" has been designed by an architectural company from Niš and it will be built by companies from Pomoravlje, in phases. The Olympic swimming pool and a pool for children will be built in the first phase, prior to June 10, 2007 - Marković stated and added that "Aqua Park" would also include restaurants, pizzerias, stores, similar to those in France and Greece and it would employ few hundred young persons.

Marković pointed out that the prices for use of "Aqua park", disregarding its European standards, would be symbolic ones for grown-ups and free for children and pupils.

"Aqua Park" is being built in the make up of the Jagodina Sports Association, about 300 meters from the city picnic area "Potok" and the ZOO. According to Marković's words, the first phase of the construction will cost about 2m RSD. In addition to the local self-government, the Government of Serbia will also participate in the financing of the construction works.
