Koceljeva like small Europe – new investments revived entire environment

Thanks to its investment attractivity, Municipality of Koceljeva has recently become the epicenter of several big projects and business ideas, which, as soon as they are realized, should completely change the current image of that town.

According to the words of Municipal manager Branislav Mićić, the main carrier of one of these economic projects is Austrian company "Rauh", which bought local company "Voćar" on July 31, 2006, and very quickly entered the process of its modernization and preparation of the new start of production.

- Austrian investor has already finished the entire program of revitalization and we expect that "Voćar" will start production of juices already in May 2007 – Mićić pointed out in the interview for "Ekapija".

Besides, Koceljevo has been chosen by Russian company "Fenix", which rented building land from the local self-government on period of 85 years, with the intention to have a modern production hall built on the surface of about 4,000 square meters.

- This is the investment that is larger than 1m EUR. Company "Fenix" rented surface of 6 ha from us and its plan is to produce liquer and vodka in the future production hall. In that unit, as well as in the revitalized "Voćar", 100-150 workers will be employed, which is very significant news for our region – Mićić explains.

The chiefs of Municipality of Koceljeva are hoping that they will get another significant investor, by the end of year 2006, through the process of privatization of farm "Tamnava" and that that investor will employ the capacities of that company in the best possible way.

Speaking about investments that the Municipality lacks at the moment, Mićić says that these are, first of all, catering-accommodation capacities, that is, restaurants and hotels, the demand for which will grow rapidly together with the revival of the economic environment.
