Construction of Balkan's largest Islamic center commenced in Duga Poljana near Sjenica
In Duga Poljana near Sjenica, Mufti Muamer Zukorlic laid the foundation stone for the most modern Islamic center in the Balkans. This project dubbed "Gate of Pester" will involve the construction of a mosque featuring the tallest minarets in Europe.
As it was explained, the mosque will be built with the donations from Sandzak people from all over the world.
The mosque will feature 15 cupolas with the diameter of the main cupola being 12 meters. The future Islamic center will have six minarets - four of them will be 45 meters tall, while the remaining two will be built to a height of 90 meters.
The complex will be built on a surface area of 1,600 square meters. Aside from the mosque, it will comprise a kindergarten, Quran School, Bosniak Cultural Center, and a 500-seat restaurant.
