Investment dream of Bački Petrovac – Industrial zone and ethno village on the Danube getting ready for construction

Bački Petrovac – Vojvodina's gate of Europe! While some would say that it sounds pretentious, concrete investment projects that are being implemented in this small municipality in the south of Bačka point to one completely different situation.

Namely, the chiefs of Municipality of Bački Petrovac are working for a long time on the ralization of real capital project for construction of the local Industrial zone, which will, according to the words of the Manager of the Directorate for Building Land, Road Economy and Public Utility Activities, Vladimir Turan, occupy about 140 ha and it should host many companies, factories, etc.

- Industrial zone will be settled along the edge of our territory and, at the moment, we are purchasing land from the citizens who have cultivated fields and other goods in that area. These are the locations that will be available only for "greenfield" investments. I expect that the entire project will be successfully realized very soon, so that we could direct all our attention to the infrastructural equipping of that area - Turan explained in his statement for "Ekapija".

According to his words, part of the road infrastructure on that location already exists, but the water supply network and the gas system should be completed and optical cable laid in the ground before the locations in the Industrial zone are offered to the interested investors. Municipality of Bački Petrovac has already applied with its Industrial Zone project for the means from the National Investment Plan and the Government of Serbia has already approved about 600,000 EUR for infrastructural equipping of the aforementioned location.

But, that is not all! Wishing to make locations on the territory of the Industrial zone even more attractive, Town Hall of Bački Petrovac has recently made the decision tha the land in that complex be offered to the interested investors at price of 1 EUR per square meter with the compensation in amount of 998 RSD per square meter of built space for communal equipping of the land.

In addition, one economic-tourist project named "Danubian Dream" is also in the focus of interest in Bački Petrovac at the moment. The project is dedicated to the construction of modern ethno village, which will be settled on the very bank of the Danube and it will have the marina with 50 places for ships.

Turan says that there is a big interest in both projects and that the construction works on both Industrial Zone and "Danubian Dream" should commence prior to year 2008.
