(Servo Mihalj caserne)
The Republic Directorate for Property and the Kikinda Municipality signed an agreement on transfer of rights of Servo Mihalj caserne to the Municipality.
According to Branko Ljuboja, municipal administration executive, the caserne was bought in line with all decisions of the Municipal Assembly of Kikinda and according to Master plan of the Ministry of Defense on solving the issue of real estate surplus owned by Army.
- The signed contract clearly states commitments. The caserne was bought at the price of 830.000 euros in 60 monthly installments. After the first installment, the Kikinda Municipality is entitled to register property for its own benefit – Ljuboja said.
This space has been lying in ruins during past years and no one has taken care of it. The caserne, as Ljuboja says, is equipped with utility, infrastructure and architectonic facilities and it has good location. It requires more investing but it is a multi-purpose facility. The Terra Museum in a part of the space - the ring, trade shops or maybe spa have been planned. The caserne was previously visited for many times representatives from the Hungarian company interested in shopping mall construction.
- We will contact them again to check if they are still interested– Ljuboja said.
The caserne occupies some forty hectares and has 52 facilities. Purchase of this facility brought Kikinda equipped industrial zone.
