Loznica to get aqua park - Preliminary draft tender under way

(Lagator pool)

The city of Loznica is planning to turn the open swimming pool Lagator into an aqua park because the existing swimming pool cannot meet the needs of the city and guests who are coming from neighboring towns of the Republic of Srpska.

Zeljko Marjanovic, manager of pools in the Institution for Physical Culture Lagator, said for our portal that during the whole 2011 season they sold 45.000 tickets and only in June this year they have already sold 20.000.

- The capacities of the current swimming pools do not meet the needs of our people. Therefore, we opted for building an aqua park occupying an area of several hectares near the Youth settlement. We are now dealing with the land issue and soon we will publish a tender for the preliminary draft. According to the first ideas, we are planning to build a big pool for adults and two smaller for kids. Of course, there will be additional facilities such as sledge and other interesting facilities – Marjanovic said for eKapija.

As Marjanovic said, it would be the first aqua park in west Serbia and if everything goes according to plan, it would open its doors to the first guests in 2014.

Swimming pools at Lagator have opened June 16, 2008 and they were constructed from the funds provided by the Ministry of Economy.
