DULI: 1.194 EUR per square meter in 'Dr Ivan Ribar' neighborhood

Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning of Serbia, Oliver Dulic said on Friday (April 20, 2012) that the price per square meter in the neighborhood, "Dr Ivan Ribar" in Belgrade will be
€ 1,194.

Customers to which this would their first apartment, will not pay value added tax (VAT) of 18% on that price.

- In the settlement, "Dr Ivan Ribar," construction of approximately 800 quality apartments has begun, and this complex will include a shopping zone, kindergartens and schools. The price is certainly better than the newly constructed apartments in the second zone of Belgrade - Dulic said today in Cuprija during a tour of works financed by the Programme of Assistance to Construction Industry in the conditions of global economic crisis.

Dulic said that big government housing projects employed the engineering and construction contractors, as 35,000 workers are presently working in the Belgrade suburb of "Stepa Stepanović" and it is expected that the new construction in "Dr Ivan Ribar" neighbourhood will employ about 5,000 construction workers.

Within the framework of assistance to the construction industry, as pointed out, so far there have been completed or there are being built over 90 schools and kindergartens, 49 sports facilities, stadiums, swimming pools, sports halls, 68 objects of public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, heating pipelines and gas pipelines, 26 community centers and 18 hospitals and health centers.

In the construction sector, he added, there are still many problems, but the sector managed to survive a serious crisis, unlike neighboring countries, where it did not happen.

During his visit to Cuprija, Dulic also toured the works at the elementary school "13 October" worth more than 7.6 million, as well as work on the reconstruction of the Olympic pool.

To equip Morava Park sports and recreation facilities, there has been provided 14.8 million dinars from the Programme of Assistance to Construction Industry.
