Real Estate Fair 'Rexpo Zagreb 2012' opened

On Friday (April, 20, 2012) the first International Fair for Investment and Commercial Real Estate projects for the Adriatic Region "Rexpo Zagreb 2012" was officially opened.

Opening the two-day fair which is organized by the Zagreb company, "Expositum" and which had brought together over 700 participants, the first Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Croatia, Radimir Cacic stressed that the investment projects must be prepared to an acceptable level of standardized European and world investors who will only then be seriously considered.

Its amazing that so far the fairs of its kind in Croatia has been a waste of time and money, he added, believing that now it was the time for such economic manifestation because, according to him, this country, as well as the entire Adriatic region were becoming increasingly attractive to investors from Europe and the world.

Cacic said that the Parliament should adopt the Law on Agency for Investment and Competitiveness that would help investors to find projects in the country, and that the agency will have a separate section for creating a number of projects that may be of interest to investors.

Among these projects Cacic mentioned golf and sailing, which is building of mega marinas.

Danish Ambassador Bo Eric Weber expressed his belief that Croatia would probably have simplified conditions for foreign investment, and for domestic investors as well.

Construction Minister Ivan Vrdoljak said the government supported projects of water amusement parks.

It was also stressed that Croatia should have more simplified law on foreigners.

The fair brought together representatives from companies, banks, cities and districts, or counties, representatives of public and private sectors, and more than 35 exhibitors were presented on separate stands.

Among participants were representatives from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, as well as foreign investors from around 30 countries of Europe, America and Asia.
