Copy linkNikola Tesla Educational Training Center for robotics and mechatronics planned near technical faculties in Nis – Project worth over EUR 5 million
Nis could soon get the Nikola Tesla Educational Training Center at its technical faculties, which should serve students to acquire practical knowledge in the field of robotics and mechatronics, as well as for retraining workers. The investor is the Office for Dual Education, and the estimated cost is around 603 million dinars, or around EUR 5.1 million.
The training center should be connected to the Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering School by a walkway.
According to the Nis Local Economic Development and Investments Administration, the training center should enable students to acquire practical knowledge in the field of new technologies in equipped workshops and laboratories. At the same time, they add, there will be various retraining and additional training programs for adults.
The Office for Dual Education and the National Qualifications Framework is allocating 602,947,181.67 dinars for the facility.
The building permit was obtained at the end of November last year, and the City Administration states that the relocation of the infrastructure is currently underway and that construction will begin after that.
This is a plot in Aleksandra Medvedeva Street, with an area of 12,066 square meters, from which, as stated in the Location Requirements, the sports field will be relocated. Also, the parking lot that is currently intended for the Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering School is being relocated.
The planned area of the new training center facility is 2,767.5 square meters and it will have a basement, ground floor and two floors. It will have its own 19 classrooms, and together with the 37 classrooms in the Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering School, there will be a total of 56 and one parking space will need to be built for each.
The main entrance to the facility will be on the southeast side and the training center will include a hall, an office for teaching staff, three general-purpose offices, an office for meetings, toilets, a kitchenette and an amphitheater.
There is also space for teaching and extracurricular activities – lectures, exhibitions, presentations, cocktails, student stays, etc. The building will have an elevator, as well as a gallery.
The ground floor will also house a laboratory for CNC machines and injection molding, a hydraulics laboratory, an energy laboratory, a laboratory for innovative industrial needs and for the needs of the automotive industry, as well as a laboratory for network and plant electricians.
On the first floor there will be laboratories for energy, computers and mechatronics, robotics, programming, pneumatics, for renewable sources, for repairers of electrical devices and equipment, as well as a multimedia room.
Also, on the first floor, auxiliary rooms and a server room are planned, and in the basement there will be an auxiliary room for mechatronics, a thermal substation and a storage room.
