Park, stores and restaurants in location of Old Marshalling Yard in Novi Sad

Relocation of locomotives and railway cars from the Old Marshalling Yard in Novi Sad, situated betwen Detelinara and Novo Naselje, should start next year. That location will then become a building site for a big park, stores and restaurants.

According to the Master Plan until 2021, relocation of the marshalling yard should be finished in that period.

Also, the plan is to place the area facing Futoska Street at the disposal of municipal services, that is, the City Transportation Company.

As people at the City Development Institute told 24 sata daily, this project is even more complex than the construction of boulevards Somborski bulevar and Bulevar Evrope, which will be resumed this year. People at City Hall say that the relocation of this marshalling yard is a project worth tens of millions of euros, so that it is possible that the work will not kick off before 2014.
