The citizens of Nis have had the opportunity to view the first materials of the public review of the new General Urban Plan of the city for the next 15 years.

The statistics, on the other hand, say that, in 15 years, 3% fewer residents will live in Nis, whereas the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia projects the percentage at as much as 3.6% for the part covered by the GUP. In the City Municipality of Pantelej, there is an increase in the number of residents, but not relative to the birthrate, but through a simple change of address.

The new plan envisages the development of housing facilities on the right-hand bank of the Nisava and the expansion of the Industrial Zone North.

Also, the construction of Juzni Blvd, which would connect Niska Banja with the 9. maj settlement, is planned. One of the important steps in the plan is also the moving of the rail station and the railroad, which would open the possibility of introducing a tram line.
