Sports complex in Borkovac forest - Construction of EUR 3.5 million outdoor swimming pool in Ruma kicks off in 2012

As of next year, people in Ruma may be able to bathe in an Olympic swimming pool that is planned to be built in the park-forest Borkovac.

- An outdoor swimming pool will be built in the first phase. A preliminary design has already been completed, and a tender for a contractor will be announced within the next 30 days. We expect the construction of the complex to start in early 2012 – Ruma Mayor Goran Vukovic told eKapija.

The first phase will include the construction of an outdoor swimming pool worth RSD 350 million, which will also be at the disposal of visitors during the winter because the plan is to cover the pool in the second phase of the construction.

Aside from an Olympic swimming pool that should be able to host various sports competitions, construction of a smaller swimming pool for children is also in the pipeline. The look of the swimming pool is designed by the company Projekt from Ruma.

This complex in the famous picnic area in Ruma will also comprise courts for tennis, handball, basketball and other sports, as well as a parking lot.
