French 'Intermarche' to begin construction of Valjevo hypermarket in Fall 2011
French company, 'Intermarche', should start in October, 2011, construction of Valjevo's hypermarket at the location between Railway station and Oslobodioci Valjeva neighbourhood, as stated by the City's Administration.
'Intermarche' management and city's representatives, with the Mayer, Zoran Jakovljevic, met last week in order to talk about procedures related to obtaining necessary licences. City services will provide in the shortest deadline all necessary approvals for construction and other licences, to make the coming work easier to the foreign investor. Local Management of Valjevo is opened to all investors interested in investing in Valjevo area, and it is ready to brush up and makes the procedures easier for licences, as stated in the announcement.
Relocation of the sewage collector from the plot where the future Intermarche object will be built, has slowed down the project realization, after the changes made in the situational plan by the investor. It has been announced earlier that the construction would start in June. At the meeting, it has been agreed that the work on relocating the collector would be done by the Valjevo's 'Waterway', and financed by Valjevo city, which will finally remove the last obstacles in preparation of hypermarket's construction.
French 'Intermarche' bought in October, 2008, 1 ha and 91 ar of city land for 2 million EUR, for the construction of the hypermarket. This company is operating in 10 European countries and has a profit of around 40 billion EUR, while it has been present in Serbia since 2004, with 6 retail objects.
