Construction of Congress Center on Zlatibor Planned – Multifunctional Facility to Have Hall with 2,000 Seats, Event Rooms and Accommodation Part

There is plan to build a congress center on Zlatibor, announced the director of the Tourism Organization of Zlatibor, Vladimir Zivanovic. As he said, it will be built close to the building of the Cultural Center of Zlatibor.

– It will be a multifunctional facility with a congress room with 2,000 seats, the kind of which few places in Serbia have (in Belgrade, it is Sava Centar), a range of side features, rooms for events, dinners, cocktails, as well as a smaller-capacity accommodation part – Zivanovic said for the latest issue of Zlatiborske Vesti.

According to him, it will be an investment of the municipality of Cajetina.

– This is very big investment of the municipality of Cajetina, and we also hope that the competent ministry will help. The congress center will be at service to all Zlatibor hotel managers, and our idea is to apply for the organization of larger gatherings at the European level, which would lead to more visits of foreign guests and create the possibility for Zlatibor to become a European congress center – Zivanovic said.

He pointed out that the construction of 25 new football fields along the route of the gondola behind Hotel Tornik was also very important for Zlatibor’s tourism.

– The construction will be carried out in phases, and the land there is enormous, so there are possibilities of building additional courts with time. That is a big investment of the municipality of Cajetina in cooperation with the Government of Serbia, to the benefit of sports tourism, where Zlatibor has already achieved extraordinary results and has even greater ambitions – he says.

He added that there are also special expectations from the Lake Ribnica area, meant for the development of tourism, and the future luxury complex Zlatni Grad.

– The master plan of the development of that space is being done, it will envisage the conditions and the manner of the construction. Zone-based development with a range of attractive units, with luxury buildings and residences of mostly smaller capacity, is planned. Also harmonized with those high demands are the golf courses which are to be built there. We’re talking 18-hole courses, for international tournaments (the kind of which don’t exist in Serbia, and they are rare in this part of Europe). That location is also to feature a golf academy, a golf school, a heliport, training spaces and equipment stores for this sport, along with a range of other features.
