Vesic: No Building in Block 8, No More “Construction Between Buildings”

The negotiations and the procedure of the replacement of the location regarding Block 37 with the investors are being completed and it will soon become a city parcel, stated the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, while guesting on Telemaster.

He pointed out that, following that, he would meet with the tenants of this block to agree what can be arranged there.

– I’m not meeting with them before the entire process is finished. But what’s certain is that construction is no longer possible there – Vesic said.

He also mentioned the construction in Block 8 and added that the information that anything is to be built in that block was not true.

–The plan for construction activities in Block 8 was stopped several months ago. It was stopped by the secretary for urban planning and construction, Bojana Radakovic, and the head urban planner of Belgrade, Marko Stojcic – Vesic said.

This is an investment planned in the location of former Centrotekstil, which eKapija wrote about several months ago.

He pointed out that what’s been presented to people, causing them to complain, was the investor’s design plan.

– The fact that someone wants it to be so does not mean that it will be adopted. I guarantee that, as long as I am in the City of Belgrade, that plan will not be adopted, just like the one in Block 37 was not adopted. If we gain the citizens’ trust at the election, we will solve the entire New Belgrade with a ban on construction on locations between buildings, which are targeted by investors. I can understand that there will be construction in New Belgrade, but only on empty parcels, and not between two buildings where there’s an empty space. That will no longer happen and we will solve that – said Vesic, as reported by Beoinfo.
