The Government has approved about 500 million dinars for subsidizing interest rates for housing loans

Serbian Government approved yesterday (21 July 2010) on the telephone session, about 500 million dinars for subsidizing interest rates for housing loans through the Program of support to construction industry.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Economy, the Government expects that on the basis of this decision there will be approved another 500 loans with a government subsidy.

It is added that in this way the housing loan market will be further stabilized and that it will assist citizens in purchase of their first apartments.

So far, the Serbian government provided for this program in 2010 a total of 2.5 billion dinars, and by mid-July there was approved 2.026 of subsidized housing loans.
