Republic Geodesic Institute to get new authorizations through changes in Law on National Survey and Cadastre

The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning in the Government of Republic of Serbia, Oliver Dulić, said yesterday (March 10, 2010) that the Republic Geodesic Institute would get new authorizations upon the adoption of changes and supplements to the Law on National Survey and Cadastre.

Explaining the suggested changes in aforementioned law in the Parliament of Serbia, Dulić said that they stipulated that the Institute, that is, the real estate cadastre, be authorized to survey national border and run the national border cadastre, appraisal and management of real estate value, formation, as well as maintenance and disposal of geodesic-cadastral information system.

He said that the Institute's new authorizations would be formation and maintainance of the national infrastructure of geospatial data, inspection supervision of geodesic organizations, topographic survey and topographic-cartographic activities, issuing and revoking of geodesic licenses.

The Minister pointed out that the adoption of the new Law on Planning and Construction had led to greater volume of work of that institute and cadastres at the level of local self-governments.

According to his words, large number of citizens' appeals is expected, primarily those related to the procedures for preparation of digital data for the needs of population census in 2011 and active participation in forthcoming procedures of denationalization and restitution, that is, returning of property.

He also said that the volume of work related to the obligation of local self-governments to put two crucial acts in effect in the following period - the spatial plan of local self-government and general detailed regulation plan - would be bigger.

The Minister pointed out that it was necessary for the Law on National Survey and Cadastre to be changed in those segments where it was not brought in accord with the Law on Planning and Construction and the law that defined mortgage.

Dulić repeated that the deadline for legalization of illegally built facilities, which expires on March 11, would not be extended. Over 80% of citizens have already applied for legalization of their facilities.
