Israeli wait for documentation - preparations commenced for construction of shopping center Big CEE in Novi Sad
On Sentandrejski Road, in the location where the headquarters of building company Neimar once stood, the facilities where offices were situated are being torn down. That parcel should be used for construction of a big shopping center at about 30,000 square meters, of which investor is Israeli company Big CEE. As newspaper Dnevnik learns, it will take another ten days or so for the land to be prepared for construction, and Neimar should be the main contractor.
Dnevnik did not manage to get the information from the people in the Belgrade-based branch office of the Israeli company on when the construction is planned to start, but the newspaper learns from the unofficial sources that the works may start in March or April.
The Israeli earlier announced that the construction would start in December 2009 because they thought they would be able to collect all the necessary documentation for that project until then. It is most likely that they failed to do that, which is the reason for delay.
Construction of a big shopping center with foreign capital is the first big investment in the city during the mandate of Mayor Igor Pavličić. Big CEE plans to invest about 70m EUR and employ about 1,000 workers. The contract on sale of building land was signed in late October 2009 between Pavličić and Rober Jahov, the company's representative.
