Information on number of illegal facilities in Serbia prior to end of March
- The information on the number of illegally built facilities in Serbia should be collected prior to end of March - the Assistant Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Aleksandra Damnjanović-Petrović, said yesterday (February 14, 2010).
- According to the provisions of the law in effect, number of illegally built facilities was about 568,000 - she told Beta agency and reminded that almost all municipalities in Serbia had already sent information on such facilities in order to determine their exact number.
- Municipalities were asked to give the information on total number of illegally built facilities regardless of whether applications for their legalization are submitted or the inspection determined they were built without permit - said she and added that the data concerned "type, purpose and ownership" of facilities.
Damnjanović-Petrović reminded that, according to earlier law, there were two deadlines for legalization, but that "nobody has ever determined total number of illegally built facilities on the territory of Serbia".
According to her words, the data that are being collected and processed at the moment will be used as the base for performing analyses and suggesting other measures for legalization.
