Preparation of new Spatial Plan of Republic of Serbia to start

At the suggestion of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Spatial Planning, the Government of Serbia made the decision at the beginning of December 2009 on preparation of the new Spatial Plan of the Republic of Serbia.

The Spatial Plan will be prepared for the territory of the Republic of Serbia, at total surface of 88,361 square kilometers, and the plan will be elaborated in two phases: the Spatial Plan Concept and the Draft Spatial Plan.

The Republic Spatial Planning Agency is in charge of preparation of the Spatial Plan.

The deadline for completion of the Draft Spatial Plan is six month. After the Ministry of Environment Protection and Spatial Planning do the expert control of the plan, it will be put on public display for 30 days in the headquarters of the units of local self-governments (cities and municipalities) in the Republic of Serbia. During that time, public presentations and expert discussions will be organized in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, Užice, Zaječar and Kosovska Mitrovica.
