Auction for sale of two locations in Niš - companies from Italy and Kazakhstan interested in lots

(City of Niš)

Certain senior official of the state of Kazakhstan is interested in purchase of the building lot in Skopljanska Street in the center of Niš and construction of a hotel in that location, while Serbian-Italian company "Naissus Company INC" has expressed interest in the investment in "Lozni kalem" where a sports-recreation center should be built. Public auction for these attractive locations will be organized on November 18th in Niš, and it is not impossible that other interested investors emerge in the meantime.

The city authorities have decided to offer those lots for sale through agency "Colliers international", and Goran Mraović from the company's Niš-based office points out that there is also the third attractive location - industrial zone "Donje Međurovo", which may be offered for sale at an auction by the end of year 2009.

- The City Council has determined the purpose of the land. The lot in Skopljanska Street must be used for construction of a hotel with all accompanying contents, while a sports-recreation center with an aqua-park, wellness and spa centers, playhouses for kids, coffee shops, restaurant and other contents is to be built in the location of "Lozni kalem". Donje Međurovo is conceived as a zone for various industrial-production activities. The light-industry companies and storage space will be situated in that zone. All locations are completely equipped with public utility infrastructure - Mraović explained.

Bojan Stanojević, a citizen of Niš and co-owner of "Naissus Company INC", says that the company is seriously interested in "Lozni kalem", but he also admits that they still considerate their participation in the auction because the city has rejected the company's proposal to make ten-year possession of an aqua-park one of the conditions for participation in the auction.
