The Government Gave the Green Light for the Use of Subotica the Second barrack - Soon a Loan for the Establishment of Industrial Zones

On October 29th, the Republican Government brought the decision to transfer the right to use property owned by the state, which makes military barracks complex "Peter Drapšin", ie the so-called Second barracks in Subotica.

Subotica thus became the first city in Vojvodina, which has received so far on the use of military assets, which is very important for the economic development of the city, says Mayor of Subotica Mr.Sasa Vucinic.

Long-Term Plan provides that in the region formed the industrial zone, and the total surface area of the barracks is 21 hectare, with supporting facilities, which occupy approximately 9,000 m2. The total value of the obtained soil, together with objects, amounts to over 121 million dinars.

- This decision opens the perspective of Subotica government to attract investors. Otherwise, Subotica in the certification of the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) positioned in the first round of certification, and for a more intensive economic development lacked only the land. This is the decision of the government resolved, and we expect that the city will now become very interesting for many investors - said Mr.Vucinic.

Agreement on transfer of rights of use should already be signed next week, the city will then initiate the procedure of obtaining the loan which will pay for use of the military complex. The industrial zone will be, perhaps the safest guarantee of the fact that the land next to the barracks already started to buy the very people in power, probably well informed about the plan that will expand the zone and that their investments and how you paid.
