Construction of TC "Delta city" in location of garage of "Niš-express" - relocation of Niš-based transportation company postponed until year 2011

- The garage of bus transportation company "Niš-express" from Niš is not going to be relocated from the location in broader center of Niš during the next year - people from that company told "Beta" agency.

By the way, trade center "Delta City" should be built in the location of the garage of "Niš-express" in Nemanjića Boulevard.

- Relocation of the garage is our priority, but realization of the investment has been postponed due to the current economic situation - said Dragana Nikolić, the PR Director of "Niš-express".

"Niš-express" was sold in November 2008 to the consortium of workers of that company and company "Delta Real Estate". The consortium was the only bidder on that tender.

- Relocation of the garage is in the pipeline because it would mean a lot, first of all, to the citizens who live next the garage because of air, land and noise pollution - said Ms. Nikolić.

She said that the garage should be moved to the location on the old road to Aleksinac, that is, Čamurlijski Road.

- Construction of "Delta city" should commence in 2011. "Niš-express" has the land on Čamurljski Road where it can move its garage, while "Delta City" should be built in the location of the garage - the Mayor of Niš, Miloš Simonović, told "Beta" agency.

The primary field of work of "Niš-express" is transportation of passengers in city, intercity and interstate traffic, and production of buses.

The Management of "Niš-express" announced after the privatization that the buyer did not intend to lay off workers and that he had accepted to keep the company in the same business within the next 10 years, twice as long as legal minimum.
