"Vienna Insurance Group" in Belgrade presents "VIG Plaza" project - building with its own renewable source of geothermal energy
"Vienna Insurance Group" will have invested over 42m EUR in construction of this business building in Belgrade, and the facility is situated in an exclusive location in New Belgrade's business zone, in Trešnjinog Cveta Street.
Modern business center "VIG Plaza" has the surface of nearly 22,000 square meters, over 16,000 square meters of which are occupied by the aboveground office space of high A class, while the two levels of underground garages with about 130 parking places will occupy the rest of the space.
"VIG Plaza" is the only building in the region with its own renewable source of geothermal energy. The use of such energy potential will be made possible thanks to the well for exploitation of subterranean waters, which is situated in the vicinity of the facility. Namely, geothermal heating pump will be using the energy of earth and subterranean waters to heat and cool the building.
This system can produce about 824 MWh of heating energy per year, and it will be able to satisfy up to 75% of the building's needs for heating energy. The use of renewable energy sources is in accordance with global tendencies, and Belgrade is the first city in the region to have such facility.
High level of automation puts this eight-floor building in the class of "intelligent buildings". Control by means of central control system with the focus on energy efficiency will ensure safe and comfortable working environment. In addition to energy saving, the system will also significantly reduce pollution that is usually produced by buildings.
Specific three-layer glass facade with integrated protection from sun, as well as the state-of-the-arts air-conditioning system, will ensure maximum comfort for tenants, while an important role in heating and energy control will be played by a meteorological station, which will be situated on the roof of the building.
Spacious entrance hall, conference room, and attractive balcony on the seventh floor, which is ideal for organization of various manifestations, are only some of the most representative premises within the facility.
Part of the space will be used by insurance company Wiener
Staedtische for its own needs, while the rest of commercial space will be offered for rent.
Works on this business center commenced in May 2008, and they are expected to be completed at the beginning of year 2010.
Cocktail party and presentation of business facility "VIG Plaza" in New Belgrade's "Block 11a" are scheduled for September 23rd. In addition to the representatives of investor "Vienna Insurance Group", exclusive lease agent "Spiegelfeld International" and contractor "Imperial Gradnja", the cocktail party will also be attended by the representatives of renowned local and foreign companies.
