Capital chance for development - Ruma obtained 300 ha of state-owned land to use

Few days ago, the rights to use of about 300 ha of state-owned land were transferred to the municipality of Ruma free of charge.

Since the land is in exceptionally attractive location, the Mayor of Ruma, Nenad Borović, believes that Ruma now has a capital chance for development because it obtained the land alongside the Belgrade - Zagreb highway and Ruma - Šabac road.

- That is an ideal location for investors, and what is especially interesting is that the detailed regulation of this land will, most probably, not be done. We will immediately start organizing special "blocks" for investors. There is already a potential partner interested in 50 ha of this attractive land - says Borović.

He explains that the rights to use of the land were transferred to Ruma after only six months, while it usually takes up to two years for a land to be transferred because the whole procedure needs to pass through six ministries, the Directorate for Property, the Republic advocacy and, in the end, the Government of Serbia, which makes the final decision. That is how Ruma got a new chance for development and the opportunity to offer attractive locations to investors and keep the pace with other municipalities in Srem when it comes to foreign investments.
