Slovenian "Grep" pressed charges against "Delta" for unfulfilled obligations

Slovenian company "Grep" has pressed charges against Serbian company "Delta Immobili" for not paying the second installment of 20m EUR for construction of sports-trade center "Stožice".

As RTV Slovenia announced, "Grep", the company that was founded by the city of Ljubljana for the needs of construction of "Stožice", pressed charges on July 20th and explained that "Delta Immobili" had violated the contract by not paying contractual obligations.

According to the contract, "Delta" was supposed to pay 48.5m EUR to "Grep" for construction of sports-trade center where "Delta" planned to open trade center.

The CEO of "Grep", Uroš Ogrin, told Beta agency in April 2009 that he would press charges against "Delta" if that Belgrade-based company failed to fulfill the obligations from the contract that had been signed in summer 2008.

So far, "Delta" has paid only the first installment of 5m EUR to "Grep", and since the second installment had not been paid prior to expiration of the extended deadline, "Grep" has decided to cancel the contract with "Delta" and seek new investment partner.

As Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, explained at the end of June, "Delta" will be replaced by Austrian "Supernova", and the contracts have already been signed.

"Delta" announced in July that it was "surprised" by cancellation of the contract, that "Grep" had not responded to the changed offer of "Delta" for participation in the project, and that it would file the lawsuit.

Contract on construction of "Stožice", worth 242.5m EUR, was signed on August 5, 2008, by Belgrade-based "Delta Real Estate" and "Grep", and company "Delta Immobilia" was founded for the needs of construction of that sports center.
