"Art Vista" and "Mirius Tuck Group" submitted bids for rental of Novi Sad-based cinema "Arena"

Only two bids have been submitted for rental of cinema "Arena" in Novi Sad. One of them is the bid submitted by Belgrade-based company for film, TV and video production "Art Vista", while the other bid came from video and film distribution company "Mirius Tuck Group" from Belgrade. Tender dossier was opened on Friday (July 31, 2009) in the premises of public company Poslovni Prostor in Novi Sad, and the commission is going to make the decision next week.

According to the words of the President of the Administrative Board, Predrag Zagorčić, company "Art Vista" has offered to pay monthly rent of 102 RSD per square meter, it has submitted the proof of payment of 209,000 RSD, it will hire 10 workers and it agrees to make all the payments anticipated by the open competition.

"Art Vista" runs several cinemas in Belgrade. This company is in cinema business since 1996 and it registered sufficient number of visitors since 2008, while overall projected investments in equipment amount to 865,000 EUR.

"Mirius Tuck Group" has offered monthly rent of 151 RSD per square meter and jobs for 10 people from "Zvezda film". The company is cinema business since 1998, it has submitted the proof that it runs one cinema on the territory of Serbia and that it has over 150,000 visits per year. It has also submitted the proof of payment of 737,907 RSD, while the projected investments amount to about 2.2m EUR, with possible construction of another hall, which would raise the amount of investments to 2.45m EUR.

After the first open competition was unsuccessfully ended, public company Poslovni Prostor and city authorities announced the second tender for rental of cinema "Arena", but the price is now almost three times lower, so that the minimum monthly rent amounts to 101 RSD per square meter. The conditions for participation in the open competition is that the company is in cinema business for minimum five years, that it runs minimum one cinema in Serbia, and that it has over 150,000 visitors per year. The renter is obliged to invest minimum 560,000 EUR in reconstruction of the facility at 2,000 square meters and 560,000 EUR in projectors, sound system and other equipment.
