Greeks took over lease on Sveti Stefan

- Greek "Restis group", the property of shipowner Viktor Restis, has taken over the ownership in "Aman resort" and the lease on Sveti Stefan - said Goran Velimirović, the lawyer of that company.

He said that Restis had taken over the ownership, but that the Singaporean company's management would stay on Sveti Stefan.

- The contracts for reconstruction of Sveti Stefan have already been signed, and the works will start in October - Velimirović told Podgorica's newspaper Vijesti.

Three years ago, the Government rented Montenegrin hotels Sveti Stefan, Miločer and Kraljičina Plaža to the Singapore-based company on period of 30 years. In the meantime, "Aman" has reconstructed only Kraljičina Plaža.

Restis is one of the owners of companies "GoldenEnergy" and "Public Power Corporation", which have submitted the best financial bid for purchase of share of state-owned stocks and additional capitalization of Montenegrin Electric Power Company.

Greek "Restis Group" already operates on the territory of Montenegro. It owns a bank, brown coal mine in Berane and a building lot next to Milenijum bridge in Podgorica.

Restis is one of five largest shipowners in Greece. He does business with royal family Al Nahyan from Abu Dhabi. Restis' fund owns a share in English football club Manchester City, which is controlled by the company owned by sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
