"Beograđanka" is back - products of over 100 manufacturers at 12,000 square meters

"Beograđanka" is back. After complete refurbishment, in which 8m EUR have been invested, the department store in the heart of the capital city opened its door on Saturday. The buyers can find the products of over 100 local and foreign manufacturers at 12,000 square meters and six levels.

"Beograđanka" is alive again, just like 35 years ago when it was opened for the first time. It was an inevitable destination of all foreign government delegations for decades. The citizens of Belgrade remembered the old time on Saturday.

- Department stores used to be places for familly shopping, and they offered all kinds of products, from furniture, clothing, to food. There is almost no citizen of Belgrade who haven't had a friend or a relative employed in department stores. They represented a big system, as well as a symbol of our city. That is why I am glad that "Beograđanka" is, finally, opened again - says Branko Spasojević, a citizen of Belgrade.

The largest department store is now even "richer". In addition to shopping, the buyers in this department store can also drink a coffee or have their hair done. There is a playhouse for kids, and one level is reserved for craftsmen, pharmacies, perfume stores, bank office, flower shop...

In addition to famous brands that consumers have already been able to see and buy in the three opened department stores, "Beograđanka" also offers the products of new manufacturers. There is a broad assortment of products on the shelves - food, clothing, sports equipment, cosmetics, jewelry, watches, kids' clothing, toys, furniture and equipment for interior, meat products and confectioneries. The buyers are also offered pianos and other music instruments.

Job

- The refurbishment of four department stores, including "Beograđanka", cost 20m EUR. Total of 500 people got jobs, while "Beograđanka" employs 200 young people - says Jelena Ćetković, PR Manager in DS "Beograd".
