"Ikea" in Loznica – Swedish company to have business centers built in Belgrade and in western Serbia
After its location hunters visited all towns and cities in Serbia, Swedish company "Ikea" has shortlisted Loznica as possible location for construction of business center. Having ruled out Vranje, Kragujevac and Stara Pazova, this manufacturer of furniture and household appliances has started thinking about having the production unit and trade center (which will also be opened in the vicinity of the Belgrade airport) built in Western Serbia. The details should be arranged by the end of the month, and secret negotiations are in the progress.
No matter how odd Ikea’s choice seems, the nearness of the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, the markets of that country and Croatia, as well as the possibility of quick transportation to Slovenia, the port in Trieste or Austria, were very important factors in the decision-making process.
The people from “Ikea” have, most probably, taken in consideration the stimuli that Loznica, as the city with favorable business environment, offers to investors who are willing to invest and employ people.
