"Delta" still without solution to problem of financing of construction of trade and sports center in Ljubljana - "Grep" started negotiations with other potential partners

- Ljubljana seeks new investor to take the place of Serbian company "Delta" in the construction of a trade center in a part of the city and future sports park Stožice – Slovenian newspaper "Dnevnik" announced.

Last summer, company "Delta" signed the contract that obliged the company to invest 232m EUR in construction of the trade center in Ljubljana, but that obligation has not been fulfilled yet. The negotiations with "Delta holding", which should provide the funds for trade center for company “Grep” in as short time as possible, run parallel with the negotiations with other partners who are interested in that project.

The newspaper cited the words of the CEO of "Grep", Uroš Ogrina, who said that there were two or three partners who could replace "Delta" if it failed to obtain loans and fulfill the contractual obligations.

- There are two traders or investors who would like to take part in the realization of this project, but I don’t want to give any comment on that at the moment out of concern for others – said Ogrina.

He added that the name of the new partner would be revealed to the media as soon as the buyer of the trade center was definitely selected. He also said that, in spite of the complications, he was still optimistic that his company would manage to fulfill the obligations towards the city of Ljubljana, and that sports park Stožice, with all of its accompanying facilities, would be completed by the end of June 2010.

So far, 24m EUR has been invested in that project, only 5m EUR of which was provided by "Delta". In case "Delta" fails to get the loan for these obligations or Slovenians fail to find the new buyer for the trade center, construction of sports center Stožice, which should also encompass a new football stadium, will be endangered.
