Five stars for hotel "Jagodina" - complete reconstruction worth 1m EUR

- Hotel "Jagodina", one of the most beautiful catering-tourist facilities alongside "Corridor 10", will be completely reconstructed and turned into a five-star hotel - the Director General, Dragan Simić, pointed out.

He said that the value of works was 1m EUR and that they should be finished in one year.

The hotel was designed by architect Miloš Konstantinović, and that facility won the title of the best architectural solution in Serbia in 1979.

Simić announced that the Contract on reconstruction and installation of air conditioning, heating and ventilation system would be signed with companies "Montaža" and "Vajshaut" from Belgrade. That will be followed by the refurbishment of rooms and suites, while the indoor swimming pool and the night bar will be transformed into a modern "spa center". Bed & breakfast in the refurbished suites and rooms will cost between 60 and 80 EUR, while the price currently amounts to about 18 EUR.

- Former big restaurant will be rented to company "Idea" and turned into a supremarket. "Šarena kafana", "Churan sala" and balcony will be in operation for the needs of the hotel, while the congress hall will be turned into a modern casino - Simić added.

Hotel "Jagodina" is of "B" category (two stars) and it was privatized in October 2007. There are 18 people working in the hotel and, once it is reconstructed, it will hire another 50 young people.
