Search for partner does not give results - Belgrade to reconstruct Sava Centar on it own?

After the third tender round failed for public-private partnership for reconstruction of Sava Centar, the City of Belgrade is considering an option to rehabilitate this facility with budget funds.

As said at the cabinet of the major, the City as a founder is trying to find a solution but without generating additional debt.

- Given that the market has now shown there is no interest by a private partner, we will see whether in the future to continue to search for a private partner or we will reconstruct the facility with the budget funds – they state.

According to the officials, the most costs at the Sava Center comes from energy inefficiency and old heating and cooling systems in the building.- We will try to, through the Fund for energy efficiency which has been set up recently, to allocate funds for some stages of energy efficiency increase. Condition is that Sava Centar previously provides projects for these stages and that sufficient resources in the Fund is allocated - the City Administration says.
