Great day for "Delta" - Serbian company won on tender for construction of 242.5m EUR worth of large trade center in Ljubljana

Serbian “Delta Holding“ has got 242,5m EUR worth of job in Ljubljana where the largest trade centre in Slovenia will be built. Out of seven candidates for construction of the largest trade center in Slovenia, two of which were from that country, company Grep, which was founded only for the needs of realization of this project, selected Serbian “Delta“ as the most favorable bidder on the tender.

Following the official declaration of the winner of the last round, which was entered by Serbian “Delta“ and Austrian “Supernova", the letter of intent was signed in Ljubljana’s city hall. In a relaxed atmosphere, Miroslav Mišković and Zoran Janković, former President of the Management of “Mercator“ and current Mayor of Ljubljan, talked about the time when “Delta“ and “Mercator“ had rises and falls in their cooperation and when some of them led to media conflicts in Serbia and Slovenia. This time, “Delta“ will participate in fulfillment of the greatest pre-election promise of Zoran Janković – construction of new Ljubljana’s stadium “Stožice“, that is, construction of the accompanying trade center, which will also be the largest trade center in Slovenia. It will be as big as three largest trade centers in Slovenia.

The surface of the trade center, without garages and parking lot, will be 103,000 square meters, while the retail surface will be 66,000 square meters, which is twice the surface of Belgrade’s “Delta City“. This center will have the same name as the shopping mall in Belgrade. At the same time, this investment is one of larger investments of “Delta“, which has been trying to enter Slovenian market for a long time. Miroslav Mišković said that he wanted to thank his friend Zoran Janković “for assuring us that we will have a good reception and that we will able to achieve good results in Ljubljana, just like we do that in the whole region“, adding that that day was the great day for “Delta“.

On the other hand, Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, added that he expected that “Delta“ would have the top-quality trade center built because Ljubljana, which is highly competitive and demanding and wants to have only the best, required such trade center.
