Novi Sad to prepare another parcel for shopping mall construction – Sale of land planned
The shopping mall should be raised on the parcel bordered by the railway, Jase Tomica Blvd and Jovana Hranilovica Street, which should address the complaints of the residents of these streets that the parcel is unsecured and neglected.
The City Administration of Novi Sad says that the area on the corner of Jase Tomica Blvd and the extension of Jovana Hranilovica Street is planned for a shopping mall and that it will be developed as part of the construction. They add that the parcel will soon be put up for sale.
– The land in question is of unclassified purpose and the plan envisions the construction of a commercial facility there. The central parcel no. 4980 K.O. Novi Sad I is privately owned, whereas the neighboring parcels nos. 4981 K.O. Novi Sad I (northward) and 4979 K.O. Novi Sad I (southward) are owned by the city. In order for the location in question to be adapted to the planned purpose, the said parcels need to be connected. The city plans, as the majority owner, to put the land up on auction, through public bidding, and the location in question should soon be adapted to its purpose in line with the procedure – the City Administration says.
They add that the future shopping mall will only have a second ground floor of no more than eight meters in height and that it will contain, aside from stores, hospitality, cultural, service and administrative features. A parking lot will be built next to the shopping mall, a developed footpath and a green area.
