Slovenian "Mercator" started construction of trade center in Šabac - TC soon in Sremska Mitrovica

Company "Mercator" has started construction of trade center in Šabac, and "M-Rodić" rented 7,500 square meters for construction of trade center in Sremska Mitrovica.

The facility in Šabac, of which value is 16m EUR and which is located in central city zone, will have surface of 23,000 square meters, 14,000 square meters of which will be retail space, and it will hire 250 workers.

It is expected that Šabac-based "Mercator center" will be put into operation in the first half of December. The contractor is Šabac's company "Inter-cop", and total of 170 workers will be working on its construction.

On the occasion of laying of cornerstone, Mayor of Šabac, Miloš Milošević, said that such projects "represent life to Šabac because the most serious problem in the municipality is high unemployment rate".

Company "M-Rodić" has signed the contract with City of Sremska Mitrovica on rental of land at 7,500 square meters on period of 99 years, where it plans to have a trade center with accompanying facilities built.

The CEO of the Administrative Board of "M-Rodić", Stanka Čurović, said to the press that the trade center, in settlement Marko Peričin Kamenjar, should be finished within one year and that it would occupy surface of 3,500 square meters.

- About 100 people will be working in mega market - she added and reminded that about 50 people had already been hired to work in supermarket "M-Rodić" in the center of Sremska Mitrovica.

President of the Team for infrastructural and economic develpment of city of Sremska Mitrovica, Branislav Nedimović, said that "new investor, like all before him, will have full support from local self-government as far as provision of necessary building permits is concerned".
