"Mercator" to have shopping center built in Valjevo - plans of famous Slovenian market chain for year 2008

Zoran Petković, the owner of 57% of all facilities of company "Mercator" in Serbia, announced that that Slovenian company would open shopping center in Valjevo at about 20,000 square meters by the end of the year. This shopping center should employ about 200 people - said Petković at the special meeting of Valjevo-based Ecology Organization "Gradac".

Nenad Kuzmanović, the city manager of Valjevo, confirms that "Mercator" bought the lot in the vicinity of company "Remont" in 2007, but that lot was not big enought for construction of large trade center. Kuzmanović said that the representatives of that company negotiated with the owners of "Remont" about procurement of the additional land.

People from "Mercator" expect that the negotiations will end prior to mid-summer.
