Largest "Mercator center" in Serbia to be opened tomorrow in Niš

New "Mercator centar" will be opened in Niš tomorrow (March 20, 2008). That will be the largest and up-to-date retail center of that Slovenian company in Serbia and in the region.

"Mercator center" in Niš occupies 32,000 square meters and, according to the announcements, it will have about 500 workers.

Niš-based "Mercator center" was supposed to be opened on March 6, but the opening was postponed with the explanation that some construction and technical works had not been finished at the time.

- We want to invest in Serbia as much as we can and to hire as many people as possible - said Stanka Čurović , the CEO of "Mercator" chain in Serbia, at yesterday's (March 18, 2008) press conference.

She added that more than 70% of food and consumer products in "Mercator center" in Niš would be the goods of Serbian manufacturers and distributors, as well as that the percentage of Serbian products among technicaland textile goods would be the same as in all other stores with such goods in Serbia.
