How will the conference centre at Belgrade Fair look? - Architectural competition completed

The Belgrade Architectural Society has announced the result of the architectural competition for the reconstruction and adaptation of halls 7, 8 and 9 of Belgrade Fair. Instead of the Bazaar, the idea is to build a conference centre, seminar and meeting rooms, congress halls...

The first prize was not awarded. The second prize went to a team consisting of Ana Mihailović, Aleksandar Subotić, Snežana Subotić, Taras Subotić and Ivan Ćalović. The increased value of the second prize amounts to 450,000 dinars.

The third prize of 350,000 dinars was awarded to Dušan Stojanović, Pavle Stamenović, Marija Morošan and Miloš Jokić.

Three purchases of 120,000 dinars each were also made. According to the DAB-a web site they were won by the following teams: Ilja Mikitišin, Igor Mikitišin, Workshop 4mindARCHITECTURE, Belgrade; Borislav Petrović, Ivan Rašković, Marija Blagojević, Saša Dimitrić, Dragana Dobrisavljević, Predrag Živković, Zvonimir Mance, Boris Petrović, Milica Sekulić and Nada Jelić; Dejan Milanović and Srđan Tadić.

The competition task was to imagine a unique conference centre with accompanying contents. It had to live up to everything a modern conference centre offers, and be planned to function independently of the rest of the fair as a daily business centre (without accommodation) for small and medium-sized congresses, conferences, meetings, gatherings, seminars, presentations and lectures.

As had previously been announced, the aim was to achieve the best solution for the future realisation of the project.

“The chosen solutions will form the basis for developing the project we need to obtain location conditions, and then the project to obtain a building permit, followed by a main project (if the investor, Belgrade Fair, decides upon such a procedure)”, announced the competition organisers.

By the middle of December 2016 all of the works will be made public on the DAB-a site. Besides this, an exhibition and debate have been announced.
