Seven companies interested in building golf court in Surčin

- Seven companies have bought the documentation for participation in the tender for rental of land for construction of golf and cricket courts in Surčin - said the city manager of that borough Vladimir Stefanović.

On the open competition, announced on January 22nd, the investors were offered the land that is about 25 km away from the downtown of Belgrade for rent on period of 99 years.

The plan is that the investor finances construction of the sports and recreation fields on that land, first of all, three golf courts (one of which should have 18 holes), one cricket field, bowling facility, building of golf club, service facilities, trade-business center, outdoor kindergarten, hotel complex with few rooms of the highest category, residential and housing complex, commercial center and artificial lake.

- If everything goes as planned, this complex should be one of the largest of the kind in the Balkan - said Stefanović and pointed out that the main criterion of the municipal commission would be the amount of financial offer and the deadline for construction of facilities offered by the bidders.

According to Stefanović, the investors will be bound by the contract to have golf court and the facilities of golf club built within the first five or six months. Estimated value of these works is about 40m EUR. After that, construction of kindergarten should follow.

The aim of the municipal authorities was to create jobs for 1,000 people by renting this land and building the complex, and to obtain funds by charging fees for organization and use of the land, so it could finance building of infrastructure that will attract new investors.

The value of al works will range between 300 and 500m EUR. The deadline for bids for land rental is February 21st. The bids will be opened on that day at noon, while the name of the selected renter will be announced on February 26.
