Tens of thousands of housing and office space in Krnjača – Decision adopted about design of plan for detailed regulation of this settlement

On the area left and right from the Zrenjanin road, on the surface of about 700 ha, construction of tens of thousands of square meters of individual and collective housing space is in the pipeline. This is enabled by the Decision about design of the plan for detailed regulation of Krnjača settlement in Borough of Palilula, which was adopted by the board members of the City Assembly at the last meeting.

– Organization of such vast space, which leans on the bank of the Danube near Pančevo bridge, is necessary because it is close to two very important traffic corridors, the Pančevo road and Zrenjanin’s road. Its development started without control and it is opposed to the method that one serious city could tolerate. Therefore, we agreed with the Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade that it should finance designing of that plan – says Đorđe Bobić, the main city architect.

The occasion for design of this plan is the projected purpose of the infrastructural solutions and determination of the possibilities of more rational use of building land when having in mind long-lasting problems and insufficient infrastructure on that territory. The aim of the plan is also rehabilitation of illegal building, as well as creation of opportunities for construction of commercial contents.

– There will be several important contents on this area. In addition to individual and collective residence, there will also be business zones, and the plan introduces possibility of construction of junctions and other infrastructure – says Bobić.
