VELIMIR ILIĆ: Russians want to build cargo-center at Belgrade’s airport
Minister of Infrastructure, Velimir Ilić, said that Moscow-based airport
"Seremetjevo" had submitted offer for construction of cargo-center at
the Belgrade airport "Nikola Tesla" and he added that it was on the
Government of Serbia to make the final decision.
- The offer we received from Russians who want to be strategic partners in
construction of cargo-center in Belgrade is good – said Ilić and added that
construction could start in 2008.
According to Ilić, Russian offer should be taken in consideration shortly after the New Year.
- Everything can be regulated by interstate agreement. I am preparing
information for the Government and we will talk about that very soon. Russians
want to participate either as majority or as minority owners of the future
cargo-center, but everything depends on the decision of the Government of
Serbia – said Ilić.
He said that the value of works depended on the variant the Government chose
and that “everything depends on whether project will be implemented in phases".
- Surface of 18 ha is in the “game” in the first phase, while the entire cargo-center will occupy about 100 ha. The question is if we are going to implement project in one or in two steps – said Ilić.
