"Monaco of south Adriatics" - Canadian billionaire Peter Monk to have luxurious marina for mega yachts "Porto Montenegro" built in Montenegro

(Peter Monk)

New owner of Tivat-based shipyard "Savo Kovačević", Canadian billionaire Peter Monk, announced that he would have luxurious marina for mega-yachts "Porto Montenegro" built in Tivat. He said that that marina would turn the city into "Monaco of south Adriatics".

- Marina "Porto Montenegro" will definitely become one of the most attractive locations in the Mediterranean and it will make Montenegro a nautical destination of the world class on the global map - said Monk.

Monk's company "Adriatic marinas" has already start to tear down facilities of former military-technical overhaul institute "Savo Kovačević" in Tivat in order for construction of exclusive nautical-tourist center to commence.

- I am happy because I will see the birth of Monaco on east Mediterranean - said Monk, adding that "Porto Montenegro" would be finished prior to year 2011.

- Marina "Porto Montenegro" will be available to the owners of yachts during the whole year and it will have room for 800 boats - said Monk and explained that it was the unique project that would contribute to promotion of nautical tourism.
