Construction of InterContinental hotel in Ljubljana commenced - Delta Holding invests EUR 42 million

Delta Holding today commenced the construction of Hotel InterContinental in Ljubljana. Investment in the first five-star hotel in the capital city of Slovenia is valued at EUR 42 million.

The ceremony marking the start of hotel construction was attended by Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovic and the representatives of InterContinental Hotels Group and Delta Holding.

The future hotel will feature 165 rooms, 2 banquet halls, spa center with a swimming pool and a fitness zone, presidential suite, etc. There will also be a restaurant with a panoramic view of Ljubljana on the top (21st) floor.

The opening ceremony of Hotel InterContinental in Ljubljana is scheduled for spring 2017.

An agreement on management is signed with InterContinental Hotels Group, the biggest hotel group in the world, and the managers of this company will be running the new hotel. IHG operates in nearly 100 countries through close to 5,000 hotels under ten different brands.

CGP is hired as the main contractor, while Elita will be supervising all the work. Both these companies are from Slovenia.

The hotel is under construction in an area surrounded by Slovenska Road, Tivolska Road and Dvorzakova Street.
