Lex specialis for Belgrade on water adopted

Parliament members of the Assembly of Serbia adopted lex specialis for the Belgrade on water project which will regulate the process of expropriation and issuing construction permit which is a pre-condition for the start of the project construction.

The law which defines Belgrade on water as a project of special importance for Serbia and Belgrade was voted by 176 parliament members of governing coalition, nine members against and there were no reserved ones.

Lex specialis defines user of expropriation, the method of issuing construction permit and other documents essential during facility construction.

Public interest for expropriation is defined so that land where the complex with supplementary infrastructure will be built would be prepared for construction.

The law implies that Serbia and the City of Belgrade have all the rights, obligations and responsibility of a user of expropriation governed by laws managing that field.
