Government of Italy sets aside 15m EUR for construction of 700 apartments in eight cities of Serbia

- Government of Italy will finance construction of more than 700 apartments for refugees in eight municipalities in Serbia – the Embassy of Italy to Belgrade announced.

According to the announcement, the building site with 76 housing units was opened on Friday (June 1, 2007) in Pančevo and all apartments will be built in Kragujevac, Čačak, Kraljevo, Niš, Stara Pazova and Valjevo.

Construction is financed by the Government of Italy with 15m EUR.

The apartments are built on the basis of project "Collaboration for Development”, which includes support to economic and social integration of refugees and the poorest layers of society.

Italy set aside 18.4m EUR for several projects in Serbia last year.
